Stoney Point Camp Friends
Welcome to the bimonthly update on us, the Whitmoyer family. If you are just tuning in, we are the family that moved from southern Pennsylvania to Stoney Point Camp to fulfill the new Program Director position. Our family of 4, Cody, Cora, Walker, and our dog Willow are so blessed to be a part of Stoney Point Camp.
You may be wondering what Cody has been doing since there are no campers during the winter. In the office there is planning for this years spring youth retreat, our summer camps, and even next years winter retreat. Cody is helping bring technology to camp. He has been updating the camp website and Facebook page. We now even have a camp YouTube channel for sharing camp announcements and camp news. He is also drawing up plans for construction projects for the spring workdays. Playing the guitar around campfires and at chapel times is a big part of camp, it also helps when presenting the camp in churches and school groups. Every other week Cody and the family have been sharing camp updates with groups and local churches in the area.
Not all work is done inside The warm spell in January allowed a lot of fence fixing along the creek and driveways. A brand new fence will greet you as you pull into camp this summer. With all the snow on the ground and since Cody owns a plow, it has been much easier for him to plow out the camp. Cody has been learning who all the horses are and getting in a little work with them each day doing daily chores. The weather has also given opportunity to do maintenance on the Longhouse and some work at the Ox Trail Lodge as well.
What about Cora, Walker, and Willow? Walker’s job, well it’s easy, that’s to put smiles on every face he meets. Willow, our black lab, is running the trail to keep the path cleared for when all those campers start coming. Cora, she is helping behind the scenes with camper registrations, and writing updates…like this one.
We’d like to thank you for all your support and prayers, and we ask that you continue to pray for us as we get closer to the summer months. If you’d like to hear from the Whitmoyers or have any questions please contact us here at Stoney Point Camp.
