2023 Project Theo

We are thrilled to announce that we have met and exceeded our goal for Project Theo 2023.  We were praying that $28,000 would be raised and we made it to $40,000.  God has been so good!  Below are the projects funded by Project Theo this year.

Week 1: Precision Skills and Training $3000.00

A fun part of the outdoor program “Precision Skills & Training” we want to improve is our shooting activities. It’s an excellent place for the kids to learn safety, gain confidence, and have a great camp experience. We are looking to improve our archery, slingshot, and tomahawk ranges. It's also a program we can introduce to schools during the school year. Our equipment currently is minimal and subpar. We aim to purchase better equipment and targets and improve the target ranges. We are asking to raise $3,000.00.

Week 2: Summer Staff $5000.00

The second project is raising funds for our summer staff. The summer staff is essential to camp; without them, we could not have camp. They are the heart of this camp program. It costs additional funds to bring in summer staff and house them; that’s why we need all the help we can get to assist with this. We are asking to raise $5,000.00.

Week 3: New Camp Generator $10,000.00

The third project is a backup generator for the main camp area. Because of the prevalence of thunderstorms and our rural locations, our power goes out almost weekly. We have outgrown the portable generator, and to allow the camp to continue running during a power outage, we need a backup system. We are sending this out for a bid; however, the electrical engineer working with us to set the system up has said the average for the new generator is $10,000.00. We are asking to raise $10,000.00.

Week 4: Staff House Remodel $10,000.00

The fourth project is our recently purchased staff house. This was bought last February. We have a mortgage for this house, and we are raising funds separately until this is paid off. However, there are additional costs to get this house up to date. We are almost complete with this project to be ready for the new camp manager to move in. To complete this, we are asking to raise $10,000.00.

Now that we have reviewed each of the different areas you can give to Stoney Point Camp Project Theodore, let’s talk about how you can get the funding to us. Option 1: Please visit our form at  https://www.cognitoforms.com/StoneyPointCamp1/ProjectTheoFall2023 look for the information about this program and follow the steps. You may give with your card or mailing a check. Option 2: Stop by for a visit and hand deliver your gift. Either way works!

Thank you for taking the time to read this information; we ask that you continue to pray for God’s blessing on the camp, campers, and staff.

A beautiful camp run by folks with a true gift and passion for sharing Christ with young people in fun, creative and rewarding ways. I spent a summer at youth camp run by Pastor Tom and it was truly one of the best experiences of my life. Don't miss out!!
