Project Theo 2025 !
Three years ago, during our first Project Theo, you helped us purchase new Lifetime foldable picnic tables for the pavilion area. These tables replaced wooden ones built years before from reclaimed John Deere lawn mower shipping crates. Since then, hundreds of campers have taken time out of their busy days to not just eat a meal but to experience far more.
Meals at camp are an event, an experience. They are a time to come together as a cabin, a family, or a group of friends, fellowship, and reflect on the day. Songs are sung, prayers are prayed, and hearty food is savored and enjoyed around these tables. Mealtime is one of the best parts of camp.
More than just a meal, these picnic tables are used throughout the day by volunteers and counsellors to help our campers with their Big 50 Bible Memory booklets. At these tables, many campers learn their very first verse, John 3:16. Many complete the full fifty verses, and some bow their heads and ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. For many, it is their very first prayer they've ever prayed.
These are more than just camp picnic tables; they are centers of worship where lives are changed, new life is born, and the gospel is fulfilled. They are not just tables but bridges to the heart of the child, where counselors listen, friends laugh together, and memories of who God is and what He has done take shape in the camper's life.
We can't thank you enough for those who helped purchase the tables, print the Big 50, volunteer, and pray for our campers. Your Project Theo donations make great things happen.
Week 1: Nine Hole Corn Hole Camp Activity $2000
A new activity we are excited to bring to camp is the 9Hole Corn Hole course. Its layout and play is just like a miniature golf activity but with Corn hole boards. Because we have many more adult activities happening at camp it is a game that attracts those from age nine to ninety. The cost is $2000.00
Week 2: Camper Discipleship Program $4000
By design, campers spend time conquering the Big Fifty each day. The Big Fifty is our camp verse booklet that includes fifty life verses for every camper. Dozens of campers memorize these verses and move on to our next booklet called the Extra Mile with fifty more. One of the greatest activities to grow and strengthen campers is to be outside enjoying God’s creation while hiding His Word in their hearts.
Throughout the year campers are mailed their own daily devotional booklets so that they may grow spiritually while away from camp. We have had many testimonies of campers reading these regularly by themselves, with grandparents, and even for school.
Sharing God's Word with campers is important to us. Each year campers come who do not own a Bible. We do our best to ensure they go home with their own copy of the Scripture.
These costs are not funded by camper registrations but through Project Theo donations. We hope to raise the $4,000 to disciple our campers with these resources for 2026.
Week 3: The Old Made New! Building Improvements $5000
In 2012, our first year of camp we had limited facilities to say the least. We built restrooms in the three main areas of activities here at camp. Since then they have been much used and loved. Like all buildings over time they are in need of repair and updating. Through Project Theo we would like to raise $5000 to make the upgrades and repairs this spring.
Week 4: Camp Staff House $20,000
The fourth project is our new Staff House, "The Ranch House", purchased and renovated in 2023. Having our camp manager living on-site and being present for the weekly retreats, visitors, volunteer groups, and building projects has been a great advantage. We hope to raise $20,000 against the $80K mortgage this year.
